MadTree to Can Identity Crisis!!

OMG, I’m so happy!

MadTree Indentity Crisis

I’ve known this has been coming for a few months now with the arrival date of “sometime next spring.” But now I’ve been given the green light to officially share the news with the world.

MadTree will release cans of Identity Crisis in February!

While I’m incredibly stoked to be able to get cans of this at all, I do have to bear the bad news that it’ll be limited runs like we’ve seen with Galaxy High and Citra High.

What is Identity Crisis?

If you’re unfamiliar with Identity Crisis here’s MadTree’s blurb and stats:

Not a ray of light penetrates the soul of this beer. Combining the roasted malt backbone of a Porter with a huge amount of earthy and citrusy hops typical in many IPA’s, this unique ale will leave you questioning it’s identity and maybe yours.

ABV: 6.9%
IBU: 61
Malts: 2-Row, Extra Special, Caramel 60L, Chocolate, Black, Roasted Barley, Carafa
Hops: Cascade, Chinook, and Simcoe

I love the way the roasty porter malt flavors support the citrus hops. Seriously, I love this beer as can be seen from my Untappd check-ins here

I’m not the only one, looking at Untappd this is MadTree’s most popular beer that hasn’t been canned yet and has an average rating of 3.74 from over 3,000 check-ins.

This is the only beer from MadTree that I’ve been waiting to have packaged. What beer are you still waiting for them to can or bottle?

  1. Absolutely LOVE this beer – one of my favorites from MadTree. I can’t wait.

I just hope their proofreader takes out the apostrophe prior to ordering the cans (questioning its identity).

    1. The image you see in the post is the actual can design. That’s it. So, all proofreading appears to be complete in this instance.
