Last week we headed to Brink to moderate a panel discussion with industry insiders to discuss if there is a craft beer bubble in Cincinnati. We have a fantastic discussion with many respected people and guests, including a vocal audience member from AB-InBev’s Higher End sharing his views, as well as Dan Listermann sharing great thoughts like “Unless you lived through the 90s you have no idea what bad beer is.”

Statement from Blank Slate's Scott LaFollette on Closing. Plus our thoughts and where to still find their beer!

Monday morning we noticed something was odd at Blank Slate. By Monday afternoon we knew that they had closed. Since then there has been much speculation and many varying assumptions about why they closed. But there have been no facts until now.

Has Craft Beer Reached Peak Mindshare?

Quick, without Googling, how many local craft breweries can you name? How many regional breweries? National?

People are often worried about the craft beer bubble hitting saturation levels. Since it’s fall and harvest season, hop shortages have become the crisis de jour with no less than the Wall Street Journal crying havoc. Concerns about shelf space, the number of tap handles at each bar, and even the supply of aluminum cans have all caused worries before.

But are we nearing a point where people simply can’t keep track of all the craft beer out there?
