Beer Review: New Belgium Accumulation

In honor of the first significant snow fall in Cincinnati today I decided it was time to get around to trying the sample of Accumulation that New Belgium kindly provided me in advance of their statewide roll out next month (December 16th). Recent brewing history has had winter seasonal beers focus on the “winter warmer” variety of a dark, roasty, spice laden brew packing a highish abv. This year both Dogfish Head and New Belgium are throwing a curve in that tradition. Dogfish Head is bringing out a cider/beer hybrid featuring pear in a pilsner. I’ll let New Belgium explain their new brew below:

Accumulation White IPA was inspired by the white beauty that falls each winter from our Colorado sky. Flurries of Mosaic and Amarillo hops bring soft fruit and citrus flavor, followed by a layer of bitter. Piled high in IBUs, Accumulation will make your winter brighter.

Beer Review : Rivertown Winter Ale

Last night Rivertown Brewing tapped this year’s first keg of their much-loved Winter Ale. Today I headed down to the, crazily packed, tap-room for a pint of this. I also scored a growler of Roebling and 2 bottles of Ville De Rivere Geuze so look forward to those reviews as well.

Listermann Brewing Company’s First Annual Christmas in July Party

Listermann’s is hosting it’s First Annual Christmas in July Party on Friday July 13th!
Time: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Join us and our New Brewmaster as we will be tapping a few kegs of our new seasonal Brew: White Death.  White Death is a winter warmer brewed with Saigon Cinnamon from our friends at Findley Market, Colonel De.
 
We will be giving away prizes for ugliest sweater and most festive.  We will also have Dino’s Gorilla Grill food truck vending right out side for your dining pleasure.
 
Christmas may be over 5 months away, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait that long to drink Christmas beer!
